Before
Burn your candle in a well-ventilated room.
Place the candleholder on a stable, heat-resistant surface to help prevent possible heat damage to counters and table surfaces.
Keep the top of the candle and the wax pool area clear of any wick trimmings or other debris at all times.
Avoid placing your candle near drafts, vents, or air currents to help prevent rapid or uneven burning. Sooting and excessive dripping can also occur.
Trim the wick to about ¼ inch as needed to avoid uneven burning, dripping, or flaring.
*** Important: For the first light, allow the wax to completely liquify across the top to ensure an even burn for future lightings. Typically, allow your first burn to last approximately three hours.
During
Always burn the candle within your sight.
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire such as furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations.
Never touch or move a burning candle. Never move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquefied.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets to avoid contact that can result in injury.
Discontinue burning a candle when only 1/2 inch of the wax is left to prevent heat damage
Extinguish the candle flame if you notice it is unusually high or flickers repeatedly.
Avoid moving the candle when lit. Never use a candle during a power outage to look for things in small places and never use the candle when using lanterns or a kerosene heater.
After
Always make sure the candle is completely out before leaving the room.
Never touch the candle or move it until it has completely cooled.
When possible, use a candle snuffer or candle extinguisher to put out your candle to prevent wax from splattering. Never use water to extinguish a candle, which can cause the hot wax to splatter or may break the glass container.
Avoid using any sharp objects to remove wax drippings from the glass holder. It might scratch, weaken, or cause the glass to break upon subsequent use
